The insurance should be enough so that in case of accident you assets don't get involved in the payment of damages, injuries or lawsuits.

People Covered under this policy

This insurance generally covers the policy holder's liability claims and any other driver who doesn't live at the same address as that of the insured. If there are other operators that live at the same address then they have to be specified for coverage in the policy. one thing to keep in mind is that generally, when you get a liability insurance for your car you will not be covered for claims against you if you get involved in an accident while driving someone else's car. If you don't have your own ‘car and have to operate a vehicle then the owner's policy will have you listed. The reason is that the insurance companies don't want to pa more then the value of the insured cars. This is true in case you rent a car that is more valuable then your own. The liability insurance policy is available in two forms. One is combined single limit and other is split limits.

Combined Single Limit

In this type of liability insurance the property damages and the bodily damages are combined and covered if occurred. This policy will work in case the insured hits a car and damages it along with hurting the people inside. This coverage will pay for the injuries to the passengers and the damage to the car.

Split Limits

The bodily injury coverage and property damage coverage are offered separately. The injuries to other people will be covered by a different policy and the damages to property are covered by another, although you still need both unless you live in a desert where there are no people except some electric or telephone poles that you might hit. Generally, the bodily injury liability insurance is also split into a maximum payment per accident and maximum payment per person.
